"HEAT" est une série en cours destinée à valoriser et documenter l'importance des arbres et de la nature dans nos villes, plus particulièrement dans Bruxelles. Le travail fut commencé en 2025 après la victoire de l’asbl "We Are Nature" face à la région de Bruxelles Capitale, sommée à "prendre les mesures nécessaires pour suspendre l'urbanisation et l'imperméabilisation des sites et terrains non bâtis de plus de 0,5 ha sur son territoire, et ce, jusqu'à l'adoption du PRAS…". Dans un monde un peu plus assommé par la chaleur chaque année, il fut une évidence pour Ferdinand de vouloir mettre ceci en image afin de démontrer qu'un changement n'est désormais plus une option mais une réelle nécessité.

“HEAT” is an ongoing series aimed at highlighting and documenting the importance of trees and nature in our cities, particularly in Brussels. The project began in 2025 following the victory of the non-profit organisation “We Are Nature” over the Brussels-Capital Region, which was ordered to “suspend urbanization and sealing of undeveloped sites and plots larger than 0.5 ha within its territory, until the adoption of the PRAS…”. In a world that suffers from increasingly intense heat each year, it was obvious to Ferdinand that he wanted to bring this to life through his art to demonstrate that change is no longer an option but a genuine necessity.
